Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) is a game online first person shooter developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden Path Entertainment, being a sequence of Counter-Strike: Source. It is the fourth title in the franchise, excluding Counter-Strike: Neo and Counter-Strike: Online.
It was released on August 21, 2012, for the platforms Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox 360 (via Xbox Live Arcade) and PlayStation 3 (via the PlayStation Network). The game will provide maps, characters and game modes and new classics, but will not support matchmaking and leaderboards systems. Multiplayer between platforms-had been planned between Windows, Mac OS X and PlayStation 3, but had to be limited to Windows and Mac OS X, due to problems with the frequency in which the game can be upgraded between systems. The PlayStation 3 will feature three different options for controls, including the DualShock 3, PlayStation Move and Keyboard / Mouse USB.
