Pokemon
is a Japanese brand known worldwide that encompasses a diverse range of products. Split into multiple media, started with RPG video games Pokémon Red and Blue for the Game Boy portable video game in February 1996.
Pokémon is the creation of Japanese programmer Satoshi Tajiri and his friend, the artist and designer Ken Sugimori. Pokémon became a milestone in pop culture of the 90s until 2003 and the sale of its games surpassed 180 million units worldwide, prompting the series to be the second best-selling Nintendo and also from around the world, both sometimes only behind the Mario Bros. series of games.
The origin of the whole series are video games made for consoles of Wasabi. The main features of the Pokémon games is the need to collect different monsters and the option to choose which will be part of the group of players and how they are trained. Several times, the games were considered innovative in the issue since the connection from Pokémon Red, Blue and Green the link between videogames was possible by connecting two Game Boys via the Game Link cable and allowing exchange and Pokémon battles between players. Company created by Game Freak, Pokémon games had the intent to interact with the players and make them interact with others, battling and trading Pokémon from one version to another.
After the first game, the creators did an "anime", which marked the beginning of the "invasion" of Pokémon to the West in the late 90's and also provided the arrival of other animes. With over 750 episodes aired in Japan, the Pokémon anime cartoon is the fifth longest on display in the United States, surpassed only by The Simpsons, King of the Hill, South Park and Arthur. In Brazil was released a CD entitled To Be A Master of Music record label in April, where the songs are in Portuguese and all the artists are Brazilian.
